Providence, RI [Brown University] — Early Saturday morning, March 15, the Providence Police Department notified Brown University's Department of Public Safety that two combustible devices were thrown at a two-story, off-campus apartment building in which an employee of Brown/RISD Hillel lives. No one, including the employee, was injured in the incident
Neither the perpetrator or perpetrators, nor the motivation of the incident, is known at this point. In the meantime, the University is providing support to the employee.
The employee's position with Brown/RISD Hillel is in partnership with the Jewish Agency, which sends Israeli emissaries around the world to conduct educational, religious, and cultural programs.
At this time, the incident is under investigation by the Providence Police Department, which is in close contact with the Brown University Department of Public Safety.
All other questions should be referred to the Providence Police Department.
