Kosher Meal Plan

Brown University's Dining Services offers a Kosher Meal Plan for observant Jewish students. There is a section of the Sharpe Refectory ("Ratty") designated for Kosher and Halal meal service so that students can adhere to dietary laws while dining with friends in the Ratty. Additionally, participating students enjoy all the benefits of meal plan participation, including credit, guest meals and FlexPlus points.

Daniel Gourmet Kosher Catering supplies complete Kosher luncheons and dinners Sunday through Friday lunch. Sabbath and holiday meals are served at Brown Hillel. Kosher vegetarian items are also provided. For al participants, breakfast and brunch meals are available from the regular meal plan menu.

For more information, see Brown University Dining Services.

Shabbat and Holiday Meals

For students not on the kosher meal plan, Shabbat dinner is provided at the subsidized cost of $10/meal. Once a month, Hillel hosts a free Community Shabbat Dinner, open to all. The actual cost of dinner is $18/student. We welcome contributions toward the actual cost of the meals and toward the Community Shabbat program.

To enroll in Shabbat Meal Plans, which provide reservations for Shabbat and high holiday meals as well as for for a semester or an entire year, fill out the Shabbat and Holiday Meal Plan form and return it to Brown Hillel.

Passover

Hillel hosts a first Passover seder for a minimal fee of $5, open to all members of the Brown and RISD community. For the rest of Passover, Hillel serves Kosher lunches and dinners on-site. Hillel's Passover meals are included in the Kosher Meal Plan, but not the Shabbat meal plans. You may order Passover meals now.
