The workshop will employ tools developed in collaboration with "Facing History and Ourselves," an international education and professional development organization, and research used to create Dance Exchange's Small Dances About Big Ideas (2005), commissioned by the Harvard Law School. Dance Exchange members will perform and facilitate alongside Liz Lerman.

Keynote 5-6:30PM, Reception 6:30-7:30PM
MacArthur "Genius Grant" Fellow Liz Lerman will discuss her artistic process and interests, including her newest project, 613 Radical Acts of Prayer. Since its start in 1976 and in each encounter, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange asks four questions: Who gets to dance? Where is the dance happening? What is it about? Why does it matter? Through these questions Liz Lerman brings community groups together to experience the expressive power of movement and explore important issues through story and collaboration. Described by the Washington Post as "the source of an epochal revolution in the scope and purposes of dance art," Liz Lerman is a highly sought after speaker. Her presentation, paired with a performance by Dance Exchange company members, is not to be missed.
